Yes! We can.

I know that most of my dear misguided family (LOL, sorry) did not vote for Obama becuase he is a democrat but I am happy that it was because of his political views and not because of his race. I am so excited about Obama becoming president. He will bring some will needed change to the White House.

This election has been historic! It was only fifty-four years ago that the civil rights movement started where African Americans had separate bathrooms, drinking fountains and we had segregated schools in America. Barack Obama's Mother lived during this time and remembers a nation divided by color. This was accepted as the norm. After years of conflict and growth as a nation we are at a place where Barack Obama now holds the highest position of power in the nation. The words of Dr. Martian Luther King, “I have a dream,” ring out true and I wonder if even he could dream that a black man could become president within his children’s lifetime. When I was watching Obama last night and saw his family and his children on the same stage with Biden and his family I could hear the words "I have a Dream" I am so impressed with our growth as a nation and how far we have come and look to the future with optimism.

"Let freedom ring. And when this happens, and when we allow freedom ring—when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children—black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics—will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual: "Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!" -- Martin Luther King, Jr.

Well I dont see how he can be any worse the Bush.. The bar is very low. just wait once his health care system is in place everything will be better!

And no heath care will no start to suck so dont try to use Denmark and Canada as a model, You have to have a good health care system in place first, and they never really have, I was talking with a client that needed medication for her sons migraine and the insurance would not cover it, 6 pills were $300.00. That is just awful!! give me a break you think the gas companies are bad!!! Holy crap!

Devin-
The healthcare system will be POOR QUALITY. Denmark and Canada are PRIME examples. Our healthcare technology will suck.
Hopefully congress won't let any of his healthcare ideas pass. Thank goodness for checks and balances.

Sorry to burst your bubble Erica but the Democrats are on control of congress too. And you cant use Denmark and Canada as examples! The sucked to start with!

Oh my gosh Devin. It is only a matter of time til we are JUST like they are. Whether we started out that way or not. They started out crappy, and now we are on our way downhill to join them. Democrats running our country.. we are screwed.

So quick to judgment. You think our country is doing really great right now? WE need a change not 4 more years of Bush. with McCain it would have just been the same old crap.

So why don't you at least wait 4 years and see where we are at instead of buying into all the republican propaganda of doom and gloom.

Him being the President we will support him until he screws up. He at least deserves a chance. But we didn't really like either one of the candidates. I(Shane) don't think they care one bit about the country it is only to get their party into office and to run their propaganda. See I would vote for dem. or rep. it just depends on their views and if they will actually do what they say.
