Christmas 2007

Christmas has come and gone again this year… I am sitting in my office thinking about the last few days and all the fun we had… Yes I should probably be working but most of the office doors are closed and my families that I work with are not answering their phone so I am forced to think about the great weekend we had…

Both of our parents live in Cedar City so anytime we visit we have to try to find a way to split time and see both.. We always leave feeling like we wanted more time with each side of the family. This Christmas we were with the Bezanson side of the family and all of the family was together for the first time since Amanda’s wedding.

We had a great time playing games and watching movies. We brought down our Xbox360 and our new game ROCK BAND. It was a HUGE hit!! That game was on all weekend, everyone got into it, even Wayne and Deb.

Christmas Eve was a special night, Amber had talked to all her siblings and had a special Christmas eve gift for her parents planned. All of the siblings were to buy little gifts for their parents that reminded them of the values or experiences that they had growing up that meant the most to them. All of the children talked about music in the home and going out on lake trips, fishing trips and the support that Wayne and Debbie have always had for them. Alisha had everyone in tears talking about the support that Wayne and Debbie have always had for her while she was running in High School and in College. Alisha gave Wayne one of her medals that she won while in College.

I enjoyed the late nights visiting with all of Amber’s family and their spouses. It feels good to know that we have the love and support from so many great people. Of course the biggest news is that Amanda will have a special Christmas present delivered to her sometime this summer. We are very excited for her and her husband Shane and cant wait to meet the newest member of the family.

Over on the Edwards side of town there was a lot going on as well. Everyone was together this year for Christmas and it was the first time we have all been together in well over a year I think… Echo and Todd and all their kids came up to Cedar and all of them were great fun to be around….. Well… Maybe not Alexa (as Kolton would say… BURN!) LOL.. I am just kidding Alexa is okay sometimes! :)

The Donovan’s live in Cedar and it is always fun to get together with them and all the kids. Kolton was depressed most of the weekend because he now has to face that his Saints are probably not going to make the playoffs and that Reggie Bush in his 2nd year already looks washed up.

The original Walkers not only came for Christmas but moved in as well!! It will be great having them closer to the family for a bit. They have always been in Idaho or California and we have never really had a chance to live that close to them. I don’t think I have lived this close to my sister Emily since we lived in the same house before she went to Idaho for college. It will be a fun year to get to know Emily and Beau and their kids. Speaking of the kids Echo for the first time I can remember saw me come in the front door and ran to me yelling my name and gave me a big hug. Echo usually runs in fear the other way when I come to the house so this was a big improvement.

The "New Walkers" were there as well and Jared and Ericas were excited to get out and try Jared's new .22 Who knows how long we will be lucky enough to have them so close to us. They are both applying to grad school and could be moving away soon.. I hope they do not go to far.. I hope they stay right where they are and go to the U of U!!

All the kids and parents got into playing Rock Band as well and I had a great time with Todd, Kevin, Jared, Erica and Kolton as well as my friend Mike when we all went to shoot some clay pigeons together.

Overall we had a great time and it is sad that it is over. When we all get together like this it makes me wish that we could all live closer together, the love and support that you get from a strong family is like nothing else, you feel like you can take on the world and overcome any adversity that comes your way when you know your family is there to back you up.

Pics to come later...

Devin! I am not depressed about my New Orleans Saints! If I were you I'd be depressed on how the Giants beat the Cowboys! (And you call my team bad!)
