Amber and I had a nice weekend, a couple weeks ago, and we're able to get out on the four wheelers, and we came across a new path we had not noticed before. It was a fun trail, but it was rated very difficult. This was our first ride of the year so we only went up a little ways until it started getting bad. Overall it was a pretty fun ride and it was great to get out on the four wheelers again.
This weekend was not nearly as fun, but it did have some good points. We spent the some of the day Saturday ripping up the flower bed on the side of the house in the front yard. We still need to tear out the rose bushes before they start to bloom and figure out what we want to plant on that side of the house before we lay down some new decorative rock.
We were also celebrating this weekend my recent promotion at my work. I will be moving from my current position to a new position with the family preservation team. My official title is Creative Intervention Specialist and I'll be working with families and children with an emphasis on keeping them out of the system and prevention. I will have a lot of freedom with this job, because there are no set rules or regulations at this time. It is a big challenge for me, and the expectations are high. Our Regional Director hopes that this job will be the future of social work. But I'm excited about is I will be able to have activities with the children who I am involved with. Anything from taking them to the museum, college tours, basketball games or even fishing. Anything that will help me be able to have a positive relationship with the children and their families. It will still be a few months before I get started and I'm very excited to start this new program.
Amber and I celebrated my promotion this weekend by going to dinner at the Cowboy Club in Wellington and had our usual steak dinner. As always, the food was excellent, and I cannot think of a better way to celebrate.

Devin,
Congrats on the promotion! You are going to be so great for that job. That sounds like a really awesome program you will be doing, you will have to keep us updated on how it goes.
The four wheeling looks really fun too, we can't wait til we get to come and ride them again.
If you guys change your mind and decide to come for the reunion, or if you just want to come visit and stay with us some time, we have a bunch of discount tickets to the six flags up here. We know how much you guys love roller coasters! Think about it.
